The Synthesis of Form and Fabrication
Discover how we bridge the gap between ancient ceramic traditions and cutting-edge additive manufacturing. Each artifact is a deliberate intersection of human intent and machine precision.
Digital Gestures
Our forms originate in the digital ether. Using parametric design software, we sculpt geometries that would be impossible to realize through traditional wheel-throwing or casting. The code becomes our clay, allowing us to generate intricate internal structures and precise exterior textures.
The Translation
The continuous digital surface is discretized into thousands of distinct layers. This slicing process is where the 'hand of the machine' is defined. By manipulating layer height, extrusion width, and travel speed, we encode tactile qualities—a deliberate ribbed texture or a smooth, sheer face—directly into the fabrication instructions.
Additive Deposition
Using proprietary paste extrusion systems, raw earthen materials—stoneware, porcelain, or infused polymers—are laid down millimeter by millimeter. This additive process is mesmerizingly slow, an orchestration of robotic precision depositing organic matter. The environment must be strictly controlled to ensure the structural integrity of the wet material as it climbs.
Curation & Firing
Once the printing is complete, the object begins its final transformation. It is slowly cured to remove moisture before entering the kiln. The firing process introduces the element of unpredictability—slight warping or subtle color variations emerge from the heat, ensuring that despite its digital genesis, every piece remains singularly unique.
Our Mediums
We formulate our own extrudable pastes, balancing the rheological properties needed for printing with the aesthetic qualities desired by collectors.
Earthenware
A robust, grog-heavy blend designed for large-scale architectural pieces. It exhibits a beautiful, porous matte finish post-firing.
Engineered Porcelain
Refined for delicate, translucent structures. This formulation demands extremely slow print speeds but rewards with unparalleled elegance.
Bronze Infusion
A specialized bio-polymer heavily loaded with bronze powder. Post-processing involves oxidation to reveal a genuine metallic patina.
